29/01 - Obituary - John Sadler
We are sad today to have to report the loss of John Sadler, who played his football as a right back at Boroughbridge in the 60/70's era before retiring due to persistent ankle injuries. He did return for a spell in the nineties when he took up the post of Manager with the Claro Sunday team.
A keen sportsman John also enjoyed many years with Staveley Cricket team where he captained the 1st team and put his joinery skills to good use in the building (with others) of their current pavilion.
He was diagnosed with MND two years ago and passed away relatively peacefully on Saturday night. His funeral will be at Bedlington on Friday.
Our sympathies go to his family and loved ones.
