A Hat Trick for "Smudge"

If you go down to the Club today, you're sure of a loud surprise. Everybody's favourite Londoner, RSM Jamie Smith got one of the best hat tricks of his career at the weekend. Although two goals for the Reserves in the defeat of Aberford and a Spurs Cup Final win over Chelsea isn't a conventional hat trick, you can be sure we'll all be hearing plenty about it. And when the goals are long forgotten, you can be sure we'll still be hearing about Spurs. Oh, Tom Smith scored the other in the 3-2 win for Slonk's boys which keeps them 3rd in the league, 7 points behind leaders Rothwell but with 3 games in hand and the away fixture still to come.

Elsewhere a 1-0 half time lead courtesy of Dan Thirkell wasn't enough for the First Team as they faced a fierce head wind and conceded twice in the second half at Ripon, leaving both teams in mid table with time and games running out.

Our Cup team of the season, the Sunday Firsts, increased their chances of a second final in the FA Challenge Cup, beating Scholes 2-1 with Baz O'Neill and Paul Scaife on target. Either The Ship or Headingley Rovers now stand in their way of the final.
