26 Apr - Result: Tricky takes trophy
'Bridge Sunday won the Challenge Cup earlier today, beating Kirk Deighton Rangers in a penalty shootout. Paul Eagling opened the scoring for 'Bridge five minutes into the first half and the lead was held for the rest of the half. Two Kirk Deighton goals early in the second half gave them the lead but 'Bridge were soon level thanks to another Paul Eagling goal. Once again, Kirk Deighton took the lead mid-way through the second half and it was only a strike after 44 minutes and 57 seconds had been played in the second half, Paul Eagling hit the target to take the match into extra time. Kirk Deighton scored early in extra time and it was not until 15 minutes and 14 seconds into the second period of extra time that Paul Eagling slotted home his fourth to take the match to penalties. 'Bridge were calm in the shootout with Ollie Barton saving Kirk Deighton's first penalty. When Barton scored 'Bridge's fifth penalty, the cup was assured.
