BOROUGHBRIDGE 'A' 4 RIPON CITY 'A' 4.
Bridge should have recorded their first victory of the season but a mixture of naivety and apprehension together with Ripon's resolution cost them valuable points. They had taken the lead on 17minutes through Paul Scaife and despite missing some good opportunities looked in good order. This got better two minutes before the break when Scaife added his second only to allow Mark Marsden to pull a goal back for the visitors on the stroke of half time. Dave Burniston restored the two goal cushion three minutes into the second half and Mattie Scaife then proceeded to miss a hat trick of chances before namesake Paul showed him the way with his hat trick goal 15 minutes from time. Bridge should have been home and hosed instead they allowed Stephen Fletcher to reduce the arrears from a corner ten minutes from time. Ripon sensed they still had a chance and as Bridge began to give the ball away in good areas and concede silly free kicks they took full advantage. Fletcher added his second seven minutes from time and then scored with effectively the last kick of the game as the home side gave away another unnecessary free kick.
