BOROUGHBRIDGE 3 ABERFORD ALBION 0
Clinical finishing from Ollie Uffindall allied to a defensive MOM performance from Stu Henry set Bridge up for an important three points in their quest for Premier Division survival. They adapted well to playing against the wind in the first half and were rewarded with the opening goal on twelve minutes as Uffindall gained some space to head home a Marcus Philpott free kick. The strong wind made playing conditions difficult but it was Bridge who struck again on 34 minutes with the move of the game as Uffindall’s precision right foot finish gave Aberford keeper Mick Booth little chance. It got better five minutes later as Paul Eagling and Uffindall combined for the latter to complete a perfect hat trick with a left foot drive. The best chance for the visitors fell to Andy Marshall who hit the post with a header just before the break. With the wind at their backs Bridge dominated the early part of the second half but without seriously troubling Booth and with the points secure Manager Daz Ekin was able to give debuts to Lee Shariff and 17 year olds Josh Philpott and Kevin Morris.
D Binns apologises for the brevity but T Coles did not fulfil his promise to provide a report.
