BOROUGHBRIDGE A 2 BURLEY TROJANS RES 1
Two second half goals from Paul Scaife were sufficient to give his side victory in this middle of the table clash. Neither side showed any real creativity in a tepid opening 45 minutes but six minutes after the break Scaife produced a little bit of magic as he jinked his way past two defenders before curling an exquisite shot into the top corner to give keeper Steve Fozzard no chance. With Tom Hepworth and Chris Wood resolute in defence it took the home side until the 81st minute to consolidate their position when Scaife latched onto an incisive through ball from Steve Warburton to slip past the advancing Fozzard. Within a couple of minutes, however, Wayne Fisher dropped a cross at the feet of Gerard Mazurke for an easy tap-in to give ‘Bridge a few anxious moments which they survived with no further traumas.
