BOROUGHBRIDGE RES 7 BARDSEY RES 0
Bridge produced some of their best football of the season on the way to this convincing result. Excellent approach play, goal line clearances, strong penalty appeals and some determined defending by the visitors kept Bridge at bay until the 40th minute when Bardsey's resilience was finally broken by a superb finish from Baz O'Neill. It got better for Bridge as Andy Hall chipped home the second on the stroke of half time and seven minutes after the interval Dan Thirkell, on his Bridge debut, coolly stroked home a penalty. The introduction of Shaw, Darville & Metcalfe reinforced the home side's dominance and on 71 minutes Mark Waddington fired in a fourth following a corner. Seven minutes from time Gavin Richie could only parry a Jason Metcalfe effort with the predatory O'Neill on hand to knock home his second and two minutes later Metcalfe finished off another superb move. O'Neill completed his hat trick three minutes from time when Ben Darville effort came back off the post.
