BOROUGHBRIDGE RESERVES 6 ALTOFTS RES 2
After last week's polished performance this was very much a case of after the Lord Mayor's show as Bridge produced a stuttering lethargic 45 minutes to leave the scoreline all square at the break. Luke Barraclough gave the visitors a surprise lead which was quickly cancelled out by a Tony Lavery chip but on 26 minutes Paul Holmes regained the lead for Altofts after Bridge had given away a needless penalty. A scrappy first half ended with the best move of the game as Den Darville set up Tom Smith for an easy tap-in.  Bridge responded to a half time tongue lashing with a much improved performance and Darville put them in front for the first time from the penalty spot on 61 minutes. The points were secured in a spell between the 74 and 77th minute when Lavery added his second, Darville had a penalty saved by Steve Beeton but then made amends by heading home an Andy Hall cross. Darville went on to get his hat trick in the last minute of the game as Bridge completed a run of six successive home fixtures.
