BOROUGHBRIDGE 'A' 1 HARLOW HILL RESERVES 2.
Harlow progressed to the next stage of the Medal competition and in truth did not have to unduly stretch themselves against a disappointing home side. Bridge did have the first chance when Wayne Fisher shot wide but thereafter Harlow's pace and passing caused endless problems and it was no surprise when they took the lead on 29 minutes. The home defence failed to deal with a cross from Bowpinder Power leaving Jamie Ord with a simple chance from 8 yards and 5 minutes later another incisive Harlow move was clinically finished by Ord. The half finished with an overhead kick from Steve Warburton bringing out a spectacular save by Tony Lazarri to keep Harlow's lead intact. The visitors continued to dominate in the second half with Tetley clearing off his own line and when sub Johnny Ibbotson gave away a penalty James Cooper, who gave another impressive performance, denied Ord his hat trick. This seemed to spur on the home side and in the 76 minute a sensational strike from Chris Chapman smashed into the top corner leaving Lazarri a virtual spectator. Bridge pushed for an equaliser without seriously the Harlow goal and need to reflect on the opening hour of play when they let themselves down.
