KIRK DEIGHTON RES 5 BOROUGHBRIDGE 'A' 2
In an open encounter it was the home side who started the brighter and took a deserved lead through Liam McEntee on 5 minutes. It did not last long as Johnny Brear latched on to a Les Hale through ball to clip the ball over Deighton keeper Drew Tindall. They had a great chance to take the lead when a Steve Warburton header rebounded off the bar but somehow Ollie Bone managed to shoot wide from a few yards out. Minutes later Rich Vogal converted a Ross Park cross and after a string of fine saves from Wayne Fisher Deighton went further ahead on 36 minutes when James Ripley smashed home their third. Bridge got back into the game on 70 minutes through Steve Warburton only for Vogal to restore the two goal cushion five minutes later as he cut in from the right to beat Fisher at the near post. Any hopes Bridge had of getting back into the game were dashed five minutes from time when Fisher did a Paul Robinson allowing a gleeful Vogal to complete his hat trick.
