ROBIN HOOD ATHLETIC RES 2 BOROUGHBRIDGE RES 3
When Tom Smith's navigational skills failed him on his way to the ground Manager Dave Ekin was forced into action and with sharper instincts he could have got himself on the scoresheet prior to going off injured just before the break. Bridge had shown their attacking intentions from the start and the returning Paul Smith was unlucky to see his 25 yard effort rattle the bar with home keeper Mark Findlay well beaten. A confident Bridge pressed on and after spurning a couple of opportunities they took the lead on 32 minutes when Andy Hall nipped in to beat Findlay to a Jonathan Werrett cross. The home side struck back immediately through Dale Pickering who took advantage of a poor clearance to smack the ball past Tony Harrison from 20 yards. Undeterred Bridge maintained their attacking philosophy and Findlay was forced to produce two fine saves to deny Hall and Callum Willey before he was beaten again five minutes later as Phil Wix beat the offside trap to coolly finish off a Mark Waddington through ball. The visitors controlled the game in the second period with several gilt edged chances going begging and they paid the price for their profligacy on 85 minutes when poor defending allowed Reece Omidiran to finish from close range. Undaunted by this setback Bridge pressed on and two minutes from time Paul Smith converted Hall's cross to give them all three points.
