Bridge did not make a very successful job of defending the Intermediate Cup falling at the first hurdle to relegated Tadcaster Magnets. The result seemed highly unlikely after a goalless first half in which Bridge had more than matched the home side but once Danny Nicholls opened the scoring early in the second half Bridge capitulated. Nicholls added his second, Gavin Evans bagged a brace, Matt Suggitt and Gary Simpson grabbed one each with the indefatigable Alastair Hogg, in the unfamiliar role of centre forward getting Bridge's consolation goal.
