BOROUGHBRIDGE 'A' 1 BURLEY TROJANS RES 2
With Johnny Brear and Tom Hoare controlling midfield Bridge started off much the brighter of the two sides but it was the visitors who had the best chance with a Danny Kenna header bringing a point blank save out of James Cooper. After this Bridge got on top forcing several corners and free kicks only to allow Burley off the hook by their poor dead ball delivery. They did however take the lead ten minutes before the break when Dave Burniston picked up a throw in from Rich Renton and from 30 yards out gave Tim Fendyke no chance as his shot rocketed into the top corner. Five minutes into the second half it started to go wrong for the home side when Chris Chapman headed into his own net and ten minutes later a Matt Steer effort found its way past several Bridge players and an unsighted Cooper into the net.
The home side pushed forward with an unmarked Burniston heading over, Tom Hoare getting a nose bleed when he got in the Burley box and Rich Renton firing high and wide as Bridge dropped into the relegation zone.
