BOROUGHBRIDGE RES 3 STULEY ROYAL 2.
Bridge progressed to the next stage of the Supplementary Cup with a hard fought victory over a resolute 10man Studley side. Recently installed Manager Les Hale was looking for his first victory against their lower division opposition but his side fell behind after only 10 minutes to a brilliant individual goal from Tim Edney who left four defenders in his wake before slotting the ball past Delroy Rudd. Gary Watts missed a couple of good chances to get Bridge back on terms and it was left to Alastair Hogg in his unfamiliar striking role to come up with the equaliser just before the break. Bridge started the second half where they had left off the first and within ten minutes the versatile Chris Chapman had grabbed a brace. Studley never gave up the fight and Anthony Mackie reduced the arrears in the 67minute but with the impressive Steve Kirby marshalling the defence Bridge held out.
