ALTOFTS RES 0 BOROUGHBRIDGE RES 6.
Playing against a much changed side from the one that they beat earlier in the season Bridge had to accept second best for much of the first half despite having the advantage of the elements. The home side enjoyed plenty of possession without really hurting Bridge and it was the visitors who took the lead on 38 minutes through Ben Darville who drilled the ball past Alex Ellis for the opener. It looked a tenuous lead until 15 seconds after half time when Paul Smith headed an Altofts clearance into the path of Andy Hall and he took one touch before bending an unstoppable shot into the top corner. This knocked the stuffing out of Altofts and with Dave Coffey and Simon Metcalf bossing midfield Bridge took control with Phil Wix scoring on his 18th birthday from the penalty spot after Darville had been brought down. This was on 56 minutes and six minutes later Metcalf added number four with Darville getting his second in the 70minute. Adam Wix, making a brief guest appearance, came on as sub for the last few minutes and completed the scoring, which was also Bridge's 50th league goal of the season, from close range.
