BOROUGHBRIDGE 'A' 2 SHERWOOD RES 3
Despite an improved performance Bridge again came away pointless losing the game to a Justin Sinclair own goal in the last ten minutes. Sherwood dominated the opening exchanges and took a deserved lead through Owen Hines who headed home a cross from the left in the 5th minute. After some of their recent performances Bridge could easily have buckled but with Ross Mardon inspirational in midfield they got back into the game with Mardon setting up Ollie Bone who coolly slotted home the equaliser past Giles Holdsworth. It could have been even better if Dave Burniston had put away a header to an Ollie Bone cross just before the break and as is often the case they were punished on 57 minutes when hesitancy in the home defence allowed Mike Johnson to fire into the bottom corner. Again Bridge's response was positive as Tom Ekin's dipping volley hit the bar, Mardon then equalised with a slight deflection of Eddie Plumpton before Steve Warburton hit the bar when clear on goal. Sherwood were then unlucky to have a gaol disallowed following a challenge between Phil Myles and James Cooper which resulted in the Bridge keeper having to leave the field but their perplexity soon turned to smiles when Sinclair own goal gave them the points nine minutes from time.
