BOROUGHBRIDGE RES 0 THE SHIP 9.
On a mud bath of a pitch Bridge came out second best against an impressive Ship outfit who would have been better suited playing at a higher standard. Bridge were fielding probably their strongest side for several weeks and competed well until they conceded a penalty in the 27th minute. The impressive Paul Pollard tucked this away with ease and four minutes later the game was over as a contest when Pollard's second was quickly followed by a strike from Wayne Cotton. By half time Damien Muir had made it four and after containing the visitors for the opening 20 minutes of the second half Wayne Cotton opened up the floodgates again with his second. Pollard struck a second half hat trick to take his tally to five with Tom Leeming getting in on the act late in the game. Despite the score Bridge keeper Delroy Rudd deserves a special as he performed heroics throughout the game saving another Pollard penalty in the process.
MOM Delroy Rudd.
