BOROUGHBRIDGE 'A' 2 HAROLD STYANS RES 2.
Two injuries at a vital stage of the game and a late Styans fightback denied Bridge a much needed three points. After an evenly contested first half the deadlock was broken on 47 minutes when Marcus Philpott netted at his second attempt. Injuries to Ross Hamilton and Craig Tetley forced Bridge into changes but when Gary Watts added a second 14 minutes from time Bridge looked home and hosed into changes. Losing key midfield players took its toll, however and Styans took full advantage pulling a goal back through Damion Stanton before Mick Ramsey cut in from the left to fire home the equaliser in the 85 minute. In difficult conditions both sides contributed to an enthralling encounter and a draw was probably about right where eight booking discredited the keenly contested nature of the game.
