BOROUGHBRIDGE 'A' 4 RIPON CITY 'A' 1
With both teams at the wrong end of the table it was Bridge who took the points against a disappointing Ripon side. They got the incentive of an early goal from Johnny Brear who forced the ball home from close range after Stephen Tombs had blocked a Gary Watts effort. They increase their lead with another scrambled effort, this time from Dave Burniston on 19 minutes, which was followed by a Chris Chapman penalty ten minutes later after Brear had been hacked down. Ripon were given some respite six minutes before the break with Chapman again the scorer as he deflected a Danny Woods cross past his own keeper but this was quickly forgotten when Johnny Brear rattled the crossbar before converting an Ollie Bone cross nine minutes into the second half. With the pace of Bone and Burniston causing the Ripon defence all sorts of problems Bridge had numerous chances only for a combination of poor finishing and a solid performance from Tombs preventing any further scoring.
