BOROUGHBRIDGE 1 BEESTON ST ANTHONY'S 1
Bridge reaped the benefit of an improved second half performance with a deserved equaliser in the last 15 minutes. With Paul Vincent probably out for the rest of the season Bridge brought in new signing Joe Beston and it took them time to adjust to the necessary positional changes. In contrast Beeston, fresh from a superb away win at Bardsey, started confidently only for Tony Garth to waste an excellent opportunity in the opening 20 minutes. The home side were creating little at this stage at it was no more than the visitors deserved when Lee Parker got on the end of a Lee McGuire cross for the opener five minutes before the break. It was a more positive home side after the interval and with Dan Thirkell and Andy Layton more assertive in midfield and Ben Darville and Chris Stephenson working the flanks Bridge began to look more threatening. Time and time again, however, they were thwarted by the excellent Matt Fannon and looked to have spurned their best opportunity when Andy Layton, somehow failed to get his head to a Chris Stephenson free kick. To their credit they kept plugging and got their reward in the 76th minute when Layton gave Brendan Wood no chance volleying another Stephenson free kick into the bottom corner.
