LEEDS CITY ADELERS 1 BOROUGHBRIDGE RES 1
After taking a first half lead Bridge showed great resilience before conceding a late equaliser in their penultimate game of the season - yes it is only the 3rd February. There was little to choose between the teams in the opening stages with neither side having the necessary guile to open up two resolute defences. The excitement of the first half was all confined to the latter stages as Bridge took the lead through Paul Scaife in the 39th minute with Adelers responding immediately only for Jodie Lazenby to see his effort bounce to safety after rattling the Bridge post. After the break Adelers upped the tempo but with Craig Tetley majestic in the Bridge defence and another steadfast display from Delroy Rudd Bridge hung on. Tony Cooper, in the Adelers goal, was a virtual spectator as his side camped in the visitors half and their perseverance was rewarded in the 84th minute when the Bridge defence was eventually breached by a bullet type header from Matt Lindsay to an Adam Bunce corner.
