BOROUGHBRIDGE 4 THORNER 1
Bridge made hard work of this semi final victory but for Rich Donohoe it could not have been a better start to his new role as Manager.  The home side dominated the early stages only to find Paul Eagling had forgotten to change his dancing shoes for his shooting boots. Ollie Barton was also guilty of a glaring miss and he was then involved at the other end as a rare Thorner attack caused confusion. The eventual and rather lucky breakthrough came on 30 minutes as a blocked Baz O'Neill shot ballooned into the air and looked to be going over the bar yet somehow landed in the net via the outstretched arms of keeper Tom Collins. Bridge appeared in control until Ross Mardon lost the ball and an incisive pass from John Horsfield picked out Joey Collins who finished with aplomb. Bridge regained the ascendancy in the 49th minute with an excellent finish from O'Neill following a slide rule pass from Donohoe. Despite this setback Thorner were now playing with more confidence and it was not until the 77th minute that Bridge added their third with Eagling firing across the keeper after combining with Mardon. A good run and shot by Jack Walton was partly thwarted by Hogg with Josh Kidd clearing the loose ball off the line before Chris Stephenson coolly volleyed home the fourth after the Thorner keeper failed to hold a Paul Scaife cross.
