Bridge's gamble of playing veteran striker Jamie Smith paid dividends after four minutes when he struck home the opener. Some early complacency then set in and only a glaring miss by Danny Foster prevented an equaliser. Smith doubled Bridge's advantage heading home a Johnny Hunt only for Foster to make amends for his earlier miss by reducing the advantage in the 35 minute. Tom Smith restored Bridge's two goal cushion in the second half and they had plenty of opportunities to consolidate their position before Dave Morley struck in the third minute of injury time to give them a few anxious moments.
