Bridge did their survival hopes no harm as they produce one of their best performances of the season to overcome promotion hopefuls Sherwood. Playing with the benefit of the elements they had a great opportunity to take the lead when a mazy run from Ross Mardon was abruptly ended in the penalty area only for Rob Turnbull to turn away Chris Chapman's spot kick. With no goals in the first half the home side looked to push home their physical advantage after the interval with dead ball situations posing the greatest threat. Bridge however showed a great resilience with Paul Norfolk and Craig Tetley at the heart of their defence and Dave Edwards and Chris Chapman working assiduously in midfield they got an unexpected bonus in the last minute of the game. A Paul Scaife cross from the left evaded everyone except Tom Hoare, who latched on to the ball and then saw his shot beat Turnbull but come back off the post where Johnny Ibbotson was on hand to stab home the winner.
