BOROUGHBRIDGE 3 ATLANTA 1
Both sides produced some excellent football on a rain sodden pitch with two late goals from Ben Darville securing victory for Bridge. The home side had Chris Stephenson returning after a long injury and Ollie Uffindall from his Australian trip only to see the visitors enjoy the better of the opening exchanges with Ed Murai especially prominent. Keepers Alastair Hogg and Dave King were both called into early action before the visitors took the lead on 25 minutes through Murai, who rifled the ball into Hogg's top corner after a couple of sighters. Bridge came back strongly with Mardon Stephenson and Darville linking well down the right hand side and got their reward in the 36th minute when Paul Scaife fired home the equaliser. Scaife then volleyed wide and King made a couple of fine saves as Bridge finished the half the stronger of the two sides. The second half in contrast was a scrappy affair until the last 20 minutes when the game became more stretched as the playing conditions took their toll.  King produced another excellent save to deny Paul Eagling and Hogg had to go full length to prevent a second from Murai but with a draw looking the likely outcome Darville popped up with two close range efforts in the last five minutes to steal the points. The ubiquitous Burniston again stole the show with another promising defensive performance.
