BOROUGHBRIDGE RES 1 KNARESBOROUGH RES 0.
48 hours after playing Kippax Reserves, Bridge were back in action in front of a fair sized crowd as they entertained local rivals Knaresborough in a fully committed high tempo encounter. The visitors certainly enjoyed a lot of possession in the first half and had the better of the chances yet throughout the game they only had three shots on target which never seriously threatened Tony Harrison's goal. After the break it was Bridge's turn to enjoy a bit more control but apart from exceptional save from Gareth Dight late on to deny Ollie Uffindall an entertaining, nevertheless, goalless draw seemed a nailed on certainly. Ex 'Boro player Paul Smith, however, had other ideas and in the last minute of the game, after latching on to a Phil Wix pass, he drifted by two defenders before unleashing an unstoppable shot into Dight's top corner. Once more it was the defensive qualities of Mark Waddington that earned him the man of the match award.
