KIRKBY MALZEARD RES 4 BOROUGHBRIDGE 'A' 2
On paper this looks like a surprise result until you read the Kirby team sheet which showed seven changes from the side that lost 8-0 at Bridge less than two weeks earlier. The home side got off to an ideal start when Chris Wood put through his own goal after four minutes and a brace from striker Matt Uffindall in the 15th & 39 minute gave them a comfortable half time lead. Bridge sent on 17 year olds Josh Kidd and Dan Saxon for their Harrogate League debuts in the second half and they certainly made a difference as goals from Johnny Brear and Johnny Ibbotson put the visitors back in the game. As Bridge pushed forward in search of an equaliser they were caught on the counter attack with Liam Pallett adding a fourth for Kirkby two minutes from time.
