A poor first half performance put paid to Bridge getting anything out of this game,, with barely 90 seconds on the clock and only 10 players on the park Wood hit a 30 yard screamer past a startled Harrison to give the home side the lead .Even with a full compliment of players Bridge struggled to hold a confident Whitkirk side and it came as no surprise when on 17 minutes Graham made the most of a generous defence to put the hosts 2-0 up and then just before the break he added his second with a towering header to make it 3-0. Bridge came out in determined mood for the second period and although having the lions share of the possession they couldn't make the breakthrough ,once again failing to work the home keeper when in good positions, whereas Whitkirk continued to hit the target keeping Harrison busy.
