Need To Know
If Boroughbridge AFC are to remain as well placed in the West Yorkshire League Division One as currently they will need to work on their away record, starting with this trip to newly promoted Rothwell tomorrow. Three defeats in four on the road contrasts starkly with four wins in five at home for Daz Ekin's men with that sole away win coming at Wetherby Athletic. Rothwell finished second in Division Two last campaign after a good number of years in that division and have made a solid start to life in Division One placing them firmly in and albeit crowded mid-table. Victory tomorrow could see 'Bridge climb to fourth but defeat would see them dragged back closer to that packed mid-table with three points separating six clubs and four alone on 10 points.

Much like their first team counterparts Aldborough Road has been much kinder to 'Bridge Reserves thus season than their forays onto the road and Neil Greer will be hoping for a third home win in five tomorrow to haul his side up into mid-table. It's eleventh versus twelfth with both sides sat towards the base of the table but with Howden having one more point from one fewer games. The honours were split when these sides last shared a division in the 13/14 season as 'Bridge were four one winners at Aldborough Road before Clough took the spoils one nil in the return fixture.

Goals have been far from at a premium in the two matches for 'Bridge 'A' so far this season with seven hitting the net at the right end, with with fourteen conceded Stephen Coles' side are still seeking their first point of the campaign. As an opening round League Challenge Cup tie then this is a tough one with Bedale Reserves flying high atop the Division One table, gaining five wins in their first six and scoring freely en route.

As starts to the season go they don't get much more perfect than 'Bridge's eleven one victory last weekend against Ossett Town Women's Development squad. Also amongst the goals last weekend were this Sunday's opponents, newly promoted Middleton Athletic who were seven one winners against Farsley Celtic's Development side. Middleton lost just one game last season en route to pipping Ripon City Ladies to the Third Division title on goal difference and this early season test for both sides will give a good indication what can be expected from this season's Second Division.
