6 Oct - Happy Birthday Kitch

Happy birthday to 'Bridge stalwart Dave Kitching who, in the words of the Club Secretary, "joined 'Bridge's golden oldie band" yesterday. Dave has been a member of the Club since the early sixties and was the first 'Bridge player to lift the Whitworth Cup. He has filled many roles during his time at the Club and his long standing service was recently recognised by the West Riding County FA. All the best Dave and we hope you enjoyed your special day.
8 Oct - Results: Carlton Dampen The Mood

Daz Ekin may have wanted a slick performance from his players today, but in the end the only thing slick at Aldborough Road was the pitch as Boroughbridge AFC crashed to a two goal to one loss at the hands of Carlton Athletic. 'Bridge were lucky to go in level at half time after Carlton missed an open net after about half an hour, and it would take 27 minutes of second half action before the deadlock was finally broken, with the visiting side taking a one nil lead. Ben Jones quickly brought his side level, but Carlton were soon back on the offensive and won a penalty in the 82nd minute following a foul by Ben Mudd. Paul Diamond, however, guessed correct to keep his side in it but his efforts were in vain when the visiting side were gifted a free header three minute from time which they converted to claim all three points, despite a late home push. 'Bridge Reserves, meanwhile, returned from Brighouse with a point following a one all draw with Brighouse Old Boys Reserves. Stevie Coles got the goal for 'Bridge who remain tenth in the table. Richard Donohoe's 'A' side had the most eventful match of the day, hanging on to take all three points in a best of nine goal thriller, despite once holding a four goal advantage. Luke Fletcher opened the scoring for 'Bridge in the fifth minute and Steve Warburton doubled the advantage ten minutes later. Pateley Bridge clawed one back soon afterwards but Sean Corbett restored the two goal lead on 29 minutes and that would be how the teams went in. Corbett added his second on 55 minutes and the lead became four courtesy of Chris Wood in the 63rd minute. The visitors mounted a fightback, however, following Lewis Barlow's sending off and threw everything at the home side, coming within a goal of snatching a point. Goalkeeper Liam Corbett picked up the Man of Match award for his performance inbetween the sticks.

9 Oct - Result: Comeback Win Sees Off Holders

Boroughbridge AFC Sunday pulled off a magnificent comeback earlier today at Aldborough Road to progress to the second round of the League Challenge Cup at the expense of holders Sherwood. 'Bridge found themselves in a hole at four one down but rallied to win by the odd goal in nine. Dan Clayton and Chris Chapman both picked up braces and it was Jake Fletcher who added the all important fifth which leaves Wayne Fisher's men three for three in cup action so far this season.
