Boroughbridge AFC 1-0 Howden Clough
Good win for you today Daz what do you think of what you saw?
Great win, it was a poor day for football as it was very windy. Poor conditions for the footballers, I thought, today but all that was important for us was three points and we got those three points. Wetherby have won and Ripon have won so it just shows how important that was for us today.

Plenty of shots before we got the goal, what do you think of the shooting?
Well, we did have plenty of shots and I think, to be fair, their two centre-backs and goalkeeper were their best three players; they blocked a lot of shots and made some good saves, the wrong people were in the right places. When it came to the goal, Ollie Uffindall just showed how cool it is to score a goal, but unfortunately not for Paul Eagling. I felt sorry for Paul today: he had plenty of chances and didn’t get his goal, it just didn’t happen on the day but we’ll take one nil.

Wetherby won today so we’re still three points clear of the drop zone, what about the rest of the season?
Yes, I think that’s a good result for Wetherby against Carlton. I think it brings Otley into it now, brings Pool into it, brings Field [Sports & Social] into it and I think there’s maybe a twist to end the season. Everybody’s been saying it’s either Boroughbridge or Wetherby that’ll go down, maybe it won’t be, maybe there’ll be another team drawn in. We just have to wait and see how the next couple of results go.

Any other comments?
Yes, I think we defended well today, I thought Steve Tovey as man of the match was outstanding, Stu Henry: good second half, and Tricky had a good game for his first game in the back three. Hoggy was as reliable as ever, his kicking today against the wind was fantastic. But again, it was Ollie Uffindall who came up with the goods, great finish, good goal.
